

Since Tell Me Why’s release late last summer, the team at DONTNOD and Xbox Game Studios Publishing have been humbled by and deeply grateful for the many gamers – especially trans and queer gamers – who have found understanding and hope in our game. From Jthrough June 30, 2021, downloading Tell Me Why will give you permanent access to the title on the platform of your choice, even after Pride Month is over.

This Pride Month, we’re making Tell Me Why free on all available platforms – Xbox consoles, Windows 10, and Steam. This year, Pride Month comes at a period of intensifying bigotry and harmful legislation against trans, nonbinary and gender non-conforming people in many parts of the world. The team said that it worked closely with GLAAD, a national LGBTQ media advocacy organization, in creating "Tell My Why" and that the transgender actor who voiced Tyler "made significant contributions" to the final product, as well. The game's creators acknowledge that there are instances when he faces "ignorant comments and microaggressions" and that after a decade away from his hometown, he is met with offensive reactions from some neighbors who are seeing him post-transition for the first time. While the game does not center on Tyler's gender identity, the gameplay does not shy away from it, either. All three chapters will be available on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Windows PC and Steam. 27, and the remaining two are set to debut on Thursday and Sept. The game's first chapter was released Aug.
